As I sat down to write this week’s blog post, I struggled.
There is so much I wanted to say yet somehow I kept coming up with nothing to say.
The one thing I did know was there was a message that I wanted to pass on-something I believe God wanted me to share with you. I don’t know who this message is for or what you may be facing in your life right now. Regardless, if there is anything you take from this week’s post, may it be these four words: YOU ARE WORTH IT.
Two weeks ago, Drew and I had the privilege of spending 8 days in the Caribbean with some of our extended family. There were so many special moments but the one that keeps coming up as the highlight was getting to sit beside my 86 year old uncle and holding his hand while we flew home.
This past weekend, we spent it visiting my brother Jay, sister-in-law Lucy, and darling nephew Jackson. The highlight of the weekend? Taking my 21-month old nephew Jackson to gymnastics class-holding his little hands as he walked across the balance beam, sitting on the floor with him as he stretched, and watching him as he jumped on the trampoline.
Throughout the past couple of years, it has been easy to get side tracked by what has not (yet) happened and what all my friends/colleagues are up to. Though there are certainly things that have not yet happened, these two highlights remind me of what has: Love. Just as easily as I can be side tracked, I am very quickly reminded of the things that mean the most: spending time with the ones I love and savouring the moments when love comes alive.
