“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”
-Colossians 5:14
-Colossians 5:14
At church Christians. Once they step foot in the parking lot post service, all bets are off. The teachings that were just heard need not apply.
Sunday Christians. Look like a Christian on Sunday, behave like an atheist on Monday.
Superficial Christians. Go to church, read the Bible, wear a Cross, have a Jesus bumper sticker but are the first to judge, condemn, and gossip about others. They are kind of like knock-off designer purses. They may look real and smell real but they are most certainly NOT the real thing. They are just imposters.
Everyday Christians. First to apologize. First to forgive. First to hold a door open for someone. First to say a kind word. First to encourage. First to say, “I love you” regardless if it is said back. First to extend a helping hand. First to pray for others when he or she is in dire need of prayers him/herself. These are the folks that get their hands dirty and their hearts into the game. They get hurt but do not crumble. They are bruised but not broken. They face dejection, rejection, disappointment, and frustration but bounce back not in their own strength but wholely dependent on the strength of God.
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”-Philippians 4:13
Everyday Christians are the folks who are willing to stand in the gap…stand in the space the connects heaven and earth, life and eternal life, who you were and who God’s created you to be. These are the ones who exemplify, radiate, and embody game changing, life transforming dangerous love.
And dangerous love, is not a some day thing or a one day thing…it’s an EVERY DAY choice.
“They will know we are Christians by our love.”-hymn
