This week, it’s all about who do you choose as your partner in life? What do you look for in a partner? Who do you envision? What type of characteristics are non-negotiable? Or are things always negotiable?
Perhaps after this, you might think a little differently about who you choose to partner up with in The Amazing Race: Life Edition.
See, like some of you, I didn’t think much about it until I was introduced to someone. This someone changed. my. life. In fact, He still does…everyday.
He’s strong, not just in a physical strength but in heart. He has an amazing heart that sees through my biggest fears, insecurities, worries, doubts, b.s. excuses, faults, flaws, and mistakes and loves me just as I am. Wholeheartedly.
He’s all in. There is no half-assing. This is no part-time, sometime, hokey pokey partnership. He’s all in for me. And invites me to be all in for Him.
He sees me at my worse and loves me. He sees me at my best and helps me become even better.
When I am weak, He is strong. To be honest, I find my strength in Him.
He is wise and His words heal, encourage, empower, and inspire. He doesn’t sugar coat. He is a straight shooter but He has a way of doing it without being hurtful or robbing you of your dignity. If anything, He gives you dignity and treats you like royalty. We could all learn a thing or two from Him.
His promise is always “you do the best you can with what you have and what you know, and I’ll take care of the rest.” So often we limit ourselves because we focus on what we can’t do because of what we don’t have and what we don’t know and then wonder why nothing happens. His promise is that if I take a step, He’ll be right there with me. We’re in this together. For the long haul.
He is incredibly brilliant. Beyond brilliant. His ways, His ideas, and His thoughts are always so much better than mine. But He never imposes them on me. He invites me to consider them and decide on my own. I must say that even my most amazing ideas are no match for His. Follow Him once and you might just end up following His lead time and time again. It’s the greatest secret to a life of significance and meaningful success.
He’s a mighty warrior and an exceptional personal trainer. He’s seen it all. He sees it all. He specializes in strength training and heart conditioning. God knows I need them both (maybe you do too).
He’s rock solid and He’s a solid rock. He’s unshakeable. He’s been known to do the impossible. To be honest, He’s still doing the impossible today. They’re called miracles. And they happen daily whether we recognize them or not. I for one decided to enroll in an intense course called “Paying Attention.” I do not want to miss out on a single thing. There’s FOMO (fear of missing out) and then there’s what I have: FOMH (Fear of Missing Him).
There is no one like Him. No. One.
He’s Unshakeable. Loves Unconditionally. Pursues Us Relentlessly. Believes in Us Wholeheartedly. Gives Generously. Forgives Regularly. And Wants the Very Best for Us Daily.
With all of the craziness going on in our world, The Amazing Race: Life Edition can be scary and overwhelming. There is so much good and yet so much suffering at the same time. What I’ve found is that who we choose to partner up with in life has a great impact on our patience, our grittiness, our persistence, and our endurance. With the right person, there is no such thing as giving up and even on the hardest day, there is still hope to be found. With the right person, The Amazing Race: Life Edition is just that…amazing.
And do you want to know a little secret? My Amazing Partner wants to be YOUR Amazing Partner in Life. Why? Because He can. But more importantly because YOU. ARE. WORTH. IT.
The Amazing Race: Life Edition is filled with extraordinary experiences but it’s also filled with obstacles/opportunities that we can defeat or that can defeat us. The good news is, there is no such thing as defeat when you’re Partnered with someone who has overcome it all and then some.
May I introduce you to Him?
His name is Jesus.
He says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”-Revelation 3:20
In other words, “Here I am! I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If you hear my voice and open your door, I will come in and together we will do this Amazing Race: Life Edition…together.”
