I love books. I can spend hours in the library or at Indigo browsing, borrowing, buying and reading books. A well-written book is a work of art.
Just over a week ago, I had the great privilege of reading “The Faith Club” by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver, and Priscilla Warner who just so happen to be a Muslim, a Christian, and Jewish respectively. The book shares the story of three beautiful women from different faiths as they explore, debate, and learn about stereotypes, life and death, relationships, and so much more. Each page makes you feel like you are a fly on the wall as feelings are hurt, beliefs are challenged, and at the end of the day, beautiful friendships are formed. It is a book I highly recommend and one that will remind you that we are all connected. One Love.
This was a poem that was shared in the book that touched my heart and I hope will touch yours.

Birth is a beginning
And death a destination
And life is a journey
From childhood to maturity
And youth to age;
From innocence to awareness
And ignorance to knowing;
From foolishness to discretion
And the, perhaps, to wisdom;
From weakness to strength
Or strength to weakness-
And, often, back again;
From offense to forgiveness,
From loneliness to love,
From joy to gratitude,
From pain to compassion,
And grief to understanding-
From fear to faith;
From defeat to defeat to defeat-
Until, looking backward or ahead,
We see that victory lies
Not at some high place along the way,
But in having made the journey, stage by stage,
A sacred pilgrimage.
Birth is a beginning
And death a destination
And life is a journey,
A sacred pilgrimage-
To life everlasting.
