You have a dream for your life.
God gives you a vision for your life.
Like the caterpillar, you’ve been given the promise that one day you’ll be a butterfly (Butterfly=the vision of who God has called you to be and the amazing life). With the promise in your heart and the vision in your mind, you set off to live each day. Day 1 passes. No butterfly. Day 2 passes. No butterfly. Day 3 passes. No butterfly. Day 45 passes. No butterfly. Day 100 passes. No butterfly. WTF!
I want everyday to be break out day. And if we’re being honest, you probably do too. There’s crazy anticipation when we know that something great is about to take place. The challenge? Not rushing the process. I know. I struggle with this daily.
The dream is taking longer than “I” planned…WTF.
Other people seem to be emerging from their cocoon quicker than me (a.k.a they seem to be living their dream)…WTF.
I feel like nothing is happening and everyday seems to be the same*…WTF.
It’s getting tight in here**… WTF.
Why is this so hard? WTF.
*=when nothing is happening in the natural, everything is happening in the supernatural
**=when your current circumstances feel tight/restrictive, it’s a sign that you are OUT growing your current state and are getting ready to emerge:)
Though I’d like to believe that I am a beautiful butterfly, I am more like the caterpillar who is inside the cocoon. While each day seems the same with hints of growth, I am reminded or rather require frequent reminders that each day, I am (you are) one step closer to bursting free from the cocoon. Each day matters because You and I…matter.
…God works ALL things out for the good of those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)
WTF…Why The Fear? WTF…Where’s The Faith?
“A Butterfly”
as shared by Joyce Meyer in “Living Courageously”
A man found a cocoon for a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no farther. Then the man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shrivelled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected at any moment that the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its short life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.
What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon are God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives.
