I had the great privilege of hearing Bruce Poon Tip give a talk at last week’s Canadian Business Leaders Forum and he was in one word: INSPIRING. He has this rawness that is admirable, a drive to make a difference that is remarkable, and the willingness to keep growing, keep learning, and keep playing bigger! In his talk of greatness, he shared his story of being fired & being sued and despite what some may consider “set-backs,” he used them to propel him and his organization G Adventures even further. He has established and surrounded himself with a team of dream makers and life-changers. Together, they have and continue to enhance the well-being of those around the world, restoring sight, expanding views, and creating greater connections within humanity.
To those of you out there who are facing a set-back, I challenge you today to consider it a set-up. I invite you to consider that opportunities often come disguised as obstacles and the goals, dreams, and big-time visions you have for your life are still alive and possible.
In his talk, Bruce said that “Liking what you do is Happiness. Doing what you like is Freedom.” I’d like to take this already awesome statement and move it one step further. There are many things that we can like, but very few that we truly LOVE.
Loving what you do is Happiness. Doing what you love is Freedom.
And the secret to all of this?
The secret of Happiness is Freedom. The secret of Freedom is Courage.
